Are you looking for the best rated glamping experience in Colorado? Having previously stayed at the Collective Retreats Hill Country property and being blown away by the comforts and service, I knew we needed to check out the Vail property when in Colorado.
Located just 20 miles west of Vail in Wolcott, Colorado the Collective Retreats Vail glamping experience was such an easy addition to our Colorado road trip itinerary.
Not only an easy trip from Vail, the location is on 4 Eagles Ranch overlooking 1,000 acres of working ranch land which allowed us to connect with nature while also enjoying luxurious comforts. I loved getting to watch the horses run in the pasture in the morning being herded by the ranch dog!

The Best Time to Visit Collective Retreats Vail
The best time to visit the Collective Retreats in Vail is from June through September. This is when the weather during the day is nice, and the nights are chilly but not freezing. Each tent is equipped with a propane heating unit, however just like the A/C unit at the Collective Retreats Hill Country property, it can only do so much!
Complimentary Activities at Collective Retreats Vail
Sage Happy Hour

Daily from 4 – 5pm there is a complimentary Sage Social Hour at Three Peaks Lodge, where all drinks and food is served daily, including one drink of the day. We had the most delicious sangria which was the perfect way to relax after having been in the car all day.
Afterwards there is available a selection of craft cocktails as well as locally procured beers and wines. I grabbed a wine and my husband an old fashioned and we took our drinks back to our room to enjoy the view from our private patio.

S’mores at the Fire Pits

After dinner and around dusk, the Collective Retreats starts up the fire pits and busts out the homemade S’mores.
Yes, you read that right – homemade. They make their own marshmallows covered in chocolate and even homemade graham crackers! You will not want to miss out on these s’mores!
Hiking In the Area
You’ve come out to the country to unwind and relax and the Collective Retreats helps you do that with established walking / hiking trails in the area to get out and explore.
You can find the walking / hiking trail map here.

Dining Options at Collective Retreats Vail
Farm to Ranch Complimentary Breakfast

Complimentary breakfast is served at Three Peaks Lodge daily, which includes a seasonal mix of fruits accompanied with honey and toasted oats.
There is also an option to order breakfast menu items simply by texting your order to Collective Retreats (they will provide you a number at check-in). We tried the breakfast sandwich and the herb butter made this one of the best breakfast sandwiches we’ve ever had.
A specialty of the Vail property at breakfast is the “Cowboy Coffee”, where coffee grounds are put over a hot stove and subsequently cold water is poured in pressing the coffee grounds to the bottom. You can watch the process at morning breakfast and enjoy your coffee the way the cowboys would have.

Picnic Lunch on the Ranch
If you aren’t planning to be in Vail for lunch, I would highly suggest the picnic lunch at the Collective Retreats property. It is available Thursday through Monday and the menu features sandwiches and salads.
If you prefer, you can even get a lunch packed up to go if you plan to be out exploring. You can pre-order lunch via a simple text message to the property.
You can check out the full lunch menu here.
BBQ Experience For Dinner

We opted for the BBQ experience for dinner at the Collective Retreats where you can grill yourself. You will be provided with a box full of different meats, sauces, corns, breads, and sides. the box will include grilling instructions, but feel free to be your own grill master here.
The couple next to us elected for the vegetarian option, and it looks equally as delicious! Once you are done grilling you can enjoy your meal back at the 3 Peaks Lodge overlooking the ranch, or back at your room.
Chef Tasting Menu for Dinner

Another option that we have been dying to try is the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings. Each tasting menu has a starter, 3 courses, and a intermezzo before finishing up with dessert.
We spoke with a couple that enjoyed the Chef Tasting menu and they couldn’t recommend it enough. They even shared with us a few seen photos of some of the dishes and it looked Michelin star level!
Tasting are requested to be reserved 48 hours in advance so the chef can prepare ingredients, which can be done via simple text to Collective Retreats. You can check out the current chef’s menu here.
