Checking off a huge bucketlist trip through Ha Lon Checking off a huge bucketlist trip through Ha Long Bay in Vietnam 🇻🇳 with @heritagecruises!
From the first moment on the boat you could feel that we were the most luxurious boat in the bay. Not to mention the staff were so friendly and willing to help with anything. If I wasn’t relaxing on the spacious sunset deck, I was either by the pool, or on our private balcony taking in the views 🤗
Make sure to check out my Hanoi stories for more behind the scenes of the cruise 👀

THE PERFECT DELHI SUNRISE SPOT 🛶 Yamuna Ghat THE PERFECT DELHI SUNRISE SPOT 🛶
Yamuna Ghat is the perfect place to enjoy sunrise in Delhi…HOWEVER
Yamuna Ghat is first and foremost a location along the riverbank where religious ceremonies are carried out, not a tourist attraction. So triple check with your driver that he’s taking you to the boats (the tourist attraction part), and not the ceremonial crematorium. Prior to our boat ride, we had a very educational walk through the temple where religious ceremonies were being performed at sunrise. We felt a bit intrusive in all honesty.
The best time to visit the river for boating is between October and February when the seagulls migrate south to Delhi for the winter.
Also, make sure to buy some bird food at the boat area for 100 Rupees before getting in your boat!

India, of all the countries we are visiting, had s India, of all the countries we are visiting, had some of the hotel stays that I was most excited about.
We don’t stay at luxury, or boutique hotels because that’s our standard of hotel. Actually, the last four nights we stayed in a hotel for $20 a night. It wasn’t luxury, but it had everything we needed (minus a window).
However, if a hotel provides an experience, now that’s what we are willing to splurge for. I call these “experiential” hotels, when enjoying the hotel becomes part of the itinerary.
In Delhi, we decided to conquer Old Delhi and stay at the beautifully restored Haveli Dharampura (save for future planning!) right in the heart of Delhi. The architecture had me sold, so incredible restaurant on site and cultural/food tours of Old Delhi were the icing on the cake!
I can’t wait to show you more of our India stays, but for now you can check out more behind the scenes of our stay at the Haveli Dharampura in my stories 👀

Happy Holi 2023 to all those celebrating! Ever s Happy Holi 2023 to all those celebrating!
Ever since I was introduced to the holiday during college, I knew I wanted to travel to India one day to experience the holiday in person.
As India was part of our sabbatical itinerary, we decided to work in the sister cities of Mathura and Vrindavan, as it is the birthplace of Holi.
As the story goes, Lord Krishna (born in Mathura) was upset about his love, Goddess Radha, being fair skinned while he had a dark complexion, so his mother advised him to smear color on Radha, thus giving rise to the Holi celebration.
We had such a blast playing holi with the locals with only a couple other tourists around. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcomed us to India.
Mathura and Vrindavan may not be full with tourists, but many many locals come from all over India to celebrate in the birth place. So the streets and temples can get extremely (and way too) crowded.
We suggest visiting celebrations leading up to the day of Holi and celebrating in the morning hours for crowd control. Holi celebrations in this area start as much as a week prior to the recognized holiday.
Stay tuned for more India travel content as we explore India for the next three weeks!
